13-year-old Pennsylvania resident Sean Bartolucci battled cancer and intense treatment for 18 months. His maturity and positive attitude are so inspiring! He made a promise to himself during those months that as soon as he was cancer free, he’d run the famous “Rocky Steps” at the Philadelphia Museum of Art in a style like no one other than Rocky himself. And not only did he run up those steps two at a time, but he had a whole entourage of support behind him.
This is a powerful message of how important the support and love from others is in the healing process. You can have strength and self confidence, but having others’ strength and confidence makes you a force to be reckoned with. I know this can be scary but if you are struggling, don’t hesitate to reach out to a loved one for support. Chances are, they may be struggling with something themselves, and being able to offer you support may in turn help them with their own struggles.
Likewise, if you sense a loved one could use a helping hand or a shoulder to lean on, don’t hesitate to offer your support. You’ll be setting in motion small steps to help a loved one, and yourself, overcome obstacles. You’ve got nothing to lose and everything to gain, so what are you waiting for?
