Want to feel good today? Try a random act of kindness! In a previous post I used this quote from Ralph Waldo Emerson, and I firmly believe in his words:
“It is one of the most beautiful compensations of this life that no man can sincerely try to help another without helping himself.”
You can do it just because you want to, or if ever you’re feeling sad or in a bad place a random act of kindness might be just the thing to lift your spirits. Some may call it paying it forward, but whatever term you use, if you go just a bit out of your way to do something nice for someone else you’ll feel better too. Why not try it?

Here’s one person’s effort to make a difference on her birthday by practicing random acts of kindness. I think if we all celebrated our birthdays this way we’d actually look forward to them!
